Second-life Batteries

From portable power to on-site static power, we’re giving a second-life to electric vehicle batteries.

Our refurbished batteries reduce the environmental impact of the battery supply chain.

Giving a new lease of life to our electric vehicle (EV) batteries increases their commercial value and reduces their environmental impact. Providing quiet and clean energy storage for a whole range of different uses – it’s a double win.

Portable power - anywhere you need it

We refurbish batteries to create Powerskids – temporary power sources which run as a clean alternative to the diesel generator. One Powerskid can store approximately 130kwh of energy. Based on an average charge session of 20kwh, that’s enough to charge 5 cars.

They connect with the local grid to power festivals, film shoots and construction sites of all sizes – and each comes with an operational guarantee.

Static power that optimises the grid and on-site renewables

Our second-life batteries connect into larger battery packs to supplement electric fleets at peak charging times. They can optimise the impact of on-site renewable generation and connect with our Network Infrastructure solutions. Combined with our pre-project consultancy, software and PPAs, they are part of our commitment to reducing the operating costs of an electric depot.

See how it works

At the end of a busy life in an electric vehicle, second-life batteries are refurbished and repurposed for use in a more controlled environment. For every battery that comes off one of our vehicles, we have data from its very first use. This allows us to guarantee its performance on projects where secure and reliable power is essential.

This means we continue to earn revenues from these batteries and can pass the savings on to customers. We also increase the lifetime carbon savings of each battery and can keep batteries out of landfill until the recycling industry has matured.
