Zenobē is partnering with Z Energy, a leading New Zealand fuel supplier to trial an EV charging solution at its Tom Pearce Drive outlet in Auckland. The charging solution links a Zenobē Powerskid, a temporary power source made from refurbished EV bus batteries, with 75kW CCS/CHAdeMO chargers and has the ability to charge two cars at once. 

The solution has provided Z Energy with EV charging capacity without the need to upgrade the electricity network to cope with the increased demand. 

Gareth Ridge, Zenobē Country Director for Australia and New Zealand, said: “We need the right technology to ensure the switch to electric transport doesn’t put additional pressure on the grid, or consumers. This project demonstrates this is possible, and supports our work with bus operators across Aotearoa New Zealand to build energy optimisation into their electrification plans.”
